This privacy policy explains how Joanna Blundell Yoga (also described below as we/us/our) uses the personal data we collect from you when you use our website, join our mailing list or connect with us on our social media accounts on Facebook or Instagram (referred to as facebook,com below) or other service providers we use. (The website, mailing list, Facebook.com/joannablundellyoga, instagram.com/joannablundellyoga are collectively known as ‘our services’ below.) It is designed to be compliant with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) 2016/679 and the UK Data Protection Act 2018.

If you sign up to our mailing list via pop-up ad: Email address

If you buy a class: Email address, name, how you found out about Joanna Blundell Yoga. 

If you buy a class, your email address, name, payment method, and last four digits of the card used to pay are securely stored on our account at our payment providers moonclerk.com and stripe.com. For how to view their privacy policies please see below.

We may also ask you to provide us with other contact details and personal information on occasion, for example if you book a private class. In this case we may collect your phone number, address and other relevant information. You are free to withhold this information, although it may affect the service you receive. 

How we collect your data

You directly provide us with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

Register online for our mailing list, buy a class online or in person, use or view our website via your browser’s cookies, use or view our social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram. 

We may transfer this information to our private accounts on various service providers we use, including but not limited to mailchimp.com, facebook.com and google.com (via Google Drive and email services).

How we use your data

We collect your data so that we can process your order and manage your account, communicate with you about services you have agreed to be informed about including special offers, video, audio and written content, products and services.

The companies we use to process your order may send your data to, and also use the resulting information from, credit reference agencies to prevent fraudulent purchases.

We do not sell your data to third parties.

How do we store your data

We securely store your data on third-party online mainstream platforms including but not limited to mailchimp.com, facebook.com, moonclerk.com, stripe.com and google.com.

We will keep you information as long as we have your permission. If at any time you want any or all of your data removed from any or all of the platforms we use, it is our legal  requirement under EU law to do so. Email yoga@joannablundell.com with your request to delete your data permanently across all platforms we use. More details below in Your Data Protection Rights.

Any non-digital data is kept in a specific binder in a private locked building, which only we can access or individuals we give permission to access.

Mailing List

When you sign up to the mailing list you agree that we can send you information about  including special offers, video, audio and written content, products and services that are relevant to us and we think you will like. 

We share your contact information with Mailchimp  our email marketing provider, so they can send these emails on our behalf. More information on  cookies and how and why Mailchimp uses cookies below.

You can unsubscribe from the email list at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of our emails.

Your Data Protection Rights

This is specific to the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) 2016/679 and the UK Data Protection Act 2018. If you are accessing the website, join our mailing list or connect with us on our social media accounts on Facebook or Instagram from any other part of the world other than the UK or EU, you do so at your own risk. It is our understanding the laws above provide some of the strongest data protection in the world and some of the strongest personal rights.

You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that we complete information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure

You have the right to request we erase your personal data permanently from any or all platforms we use to store data. You may have to contact third party providers directly, including but not limited to, facebook.com, moonclerk.com and stripe.com.

The right to restrict processing

You have the right to request we restrict the processing of your personal data.

The right to object to processing

You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data. 

The right to data portability

 You have the right to request the data we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you.

Rights in relation to automated decision-making and profiling

You are allowed to challenge and request a review of any decisions made with no human involvement, such as profiling, which uses personal data to make calculated assumptions about individuals.

We use cookies across some of our platforms. Mainly those cookies are provided by third party service providers we use including but not limited to squarespace.com, which hosts our website, mailchimp.com which sends our emails and facebook.com, which provides data analytics.

Functionality: Functional and required cookies are always used, which allow Squarespace, our hosting platform, to securely serve this website to you.

Data and analytics: We use Analytics and Performance cookies to collect information on your behalf about how your interact with our services. 

Advertising: We use these cookies to collect information about your visit to our website, the content you viewed, the links you followed and information about your browser, device and IP address. This is information is stored securely on third party sites, our service providers. It is sometimes used for advertising purposes.
